Adagio Chocolates – Who We Are

The founders of Adagio chocolates have been involved in the chocolate industry since 1988. We catered to chocoholics, providing them with the highest quality European and American chocolates. Fine chocolates to be sure, but a far cry from the chocolates that we are proud to offer you now. One of our goals now is to discover, and to then share with you, some of the finest chocolates in the world made by the producers themselves in their countries of origin. Single estate chocolates exhibit unrivaled taste experiences that are exclusively defined by the cacao bean and the environment in which it grows. We begin our new venture with a quartet of superb Ecuadorian chocolates that will put you ad agio,‘at ease’, as you slowly relish the subtle undertones of citrus, banana and other subtle aromas that infuse the cacao of the Ecuadorian country side. Not to be gobbled down, these bars are to be savored. Relax; get comfortable, be ad agio as you revel in the sensational taste of these chocolates from one of the premier sources of cacao in the world.

About Cacaoyere Chocolate

The owners of Ecuatoriana de Chocolates and their team give their all, to showcase - from the land where the best cacao in the world grows - gourmet chocolate, produced in ECUADOR. Ecuatoriana de Chocolates' strategy is unusual for an Ecuadorian company. The cacao comes from small growers' cooperatives, scattered throughout Ecuador. These small farmers average one to 15 hectares of cacao, growing in harmony with fruit and timber trees and tropical woodlands. Under normal circumstances, their yearlv earnings would range from 700 to 1200 US dollars, not enough to send their children to school, or pay for health care, curative or preventative. EOC pays a fair price, a good 45% higher than the local price, to help improve these folks quality of life. Ecuatoriana de Chocolates SA also helps fund various projects, sometimes in co-financing with GTZ and ACOI/VOCA, to enhance farms' productivity, make cooperatives more competitive, and achieve environment friendly crops, sustainable for many years to come.

In 2006, the company, Ecuatoriana de Chocolates, under the brand name of CACAOYERE, which means “cacao garden“, began production of gourmet chocolates for export, in compliance with quality standards demanded from the international market.
